PETER SCHWARTZ

When I paint, I try to create what I call 'organized randomness'. I let my hands go wild until the urge to start balancing things out takes over. Then my goal is to make something that although balanced is still dramatic and exciting, something that quickens the heart and raises questions in the mind.

The thing I love about abstract art is it allows viewers to participate, to interpret what they see using their own histories and perceptions. My work is not so vague as to leave you in the dark and it doesn't spoonfeed you either. It allows you to dream.
